What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information DatingDreams collects when you use our military dating site, how we use it to match you with verified members, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your own data. It applies to every visitor to dating-dreams.com and every registered member, whether you sign up free or hold a paid subscription.

Information We Collect From You
We collect only what we need to run a relationship-focused dating community and keep it free of scammers. The categories below cover everything we ever store about you.
- Account details. Your email address, password (stored hashed, never readable), date of birth, gender, and the gender you want to meet. Required to create an account.
- Profile information. Display name, age, branch of service or civilian status, city or base, photos, biography, and relationship intent. You decide what to share and can edit or hide any field at any time.
- Verification data. A short selfie video for photo verification and, optionally, a .mil email address to earn a service badge. Verification footage is reviewed and deleted within 30 days.
- Approximate location. City-level location derived from your IP address or, with permission, from your device, used only to surface nearby matches. We never display your precise GPS coordinates or military base address to other members.
- Device and usage data. Browser type, operating system, anonymized IP address, and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and improve features.
- Communication content. Messages, voice notes, and photos you exchange with other members, stored encrypted and accessible only to you, the recipient, and our trust team when a report is filed.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details directly - we only store the last four digits, plan tier, and renewal date.
How We Use Your Information
Every piece of data we collect serves one of five purposes. We do not use your information for anything outside this list.
- Matching. We use your profile, intent, and location to show you compatible members and to show your profile to people you might like.
- Verification. Selfie videos and optional .mil email checks confirm you are a real person and, where applicable, a real service member.
- Fraud and scam prevention. Behavioral signals help our trust team detect and remove fake profiles - typically within 24 hours of the first report.
- Customer support. When you contact us, we look at your account history to help solve the issue.
- Service improvement. Aggregated, anonymous usage patterns guide new features. Individual messages are never analyzed for marketing or model training.
Sharing With Third Parties
We share the minimum amount of data with a small number of vetted vendors, exclusively to operate the platform. Specifically:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) receive the card details you enter at checkout - we never see the full number.
- Photo verification vendor processes selfie videos under a strict data-processing agreement and deletes footage within 30 days.
- Email delivery provider sends transactional messages such as match alerts and password resets.
- Legal and law enforcement requests are honored only when accompanied by a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful process.
We do not sell your data.
DatingDreams does not sell, rent, or trade member information with advertisers, data brokers, marketing networks, or AI model trainers. Your photos and messages stay inside the platform.
Your Rights Under GDPR and CCPA

Right to Access
Request a complete copy of every piece of data we store about you, delivered as a downloadable file within 30 days.
Right to Deletion
Permanently delete your account and all associated data from inside Settings → Privacy, or by emailing our team. Backups purge within 90 days.
Right to Portability
Export your profile, photos, and message history in a machine-readable JSON format and take it to another service.
Right to Opt Out
Decline analytics cookies, unsubscribe from non-essential email, or limit data use for matching - at any time, from your account settings.

DatingDreams uses essential cookies to keep you logged in, analytics cookies to understand which features help members find matches, and a small set of advertising cookies for paid acquisition campaigns. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Member data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and at rest with AES-256. Production databases sit in SOC 2 Type II certified data centers in the United States with restricted, role-based access - only a handful of trust and engineering staff can read account records, and every access is logged.
Our security commitment to service members
We treat operational security like you do. Base locations are never displayed publicly, .mil email addresses are hashed after verification, deployment status is shared only when you choose, and we run quarterly penetration tests by an independent security firm.
Retention windows are deliberately short. Verification footage deletes within 30 days. Inactive accounts are anonymized after 24 months. Closed-account data purges from live systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within 90 days. Following our safety tips - never sharing your home address, base, or financial details with someone you have not met - adds another layer on top of the controls we run server-side.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
When we make a material change to how we handle your data, we email every active member at least 14 days before the change takes effect and post a banner at the top of the site. Minor edits - typos, clarifications, link updates - are reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. The historical archive of every version is available on request.
